About Emergency Management
Coordinates strategic planning and preparedness activities with local stakeholders; develops plans and conducts preparedness activities related to emergency management of natural and/or man-made disasters or other large-scale emergency incidents.
Provides management of EMA staff and volunteer personnel; supervises, guides, and directs work activities; develops, administers, and implements training and certification activities for volunteer groups.
Plans, prepares, and oversees response and mitigation activities; conducts threat assessments; assists the county management in developing; implementing and evaluating the local emergency operations plan; ensures plan meets state and federal requirements; communicates plan to county officials and departments, municipalities, community groups, and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).
